4th Jiangsu University International Culture Festival Held

May 24, the 4th Jiangsu University International Culture Festival was officially opened featuring the theme of “One World One Love”. Guests to the Festival were interviewed by President Yuan Shouqi of Jiangsu University. Present at the opening ceremony were Mr. Yohannes Fanta, Consul-General for Ethiopia in Shanghai, Mr. Mahavir P.Bhardwaj, Deputy Consul-General for India in Shanghai, Mr. Chuol Deng Koryom, Secretary for South Sudan in Beijing, Mr. Zhang Xiangyang, Vice Director of the Foreign Office of Zhenjiang City, and Mr. Li Hongbo, Vice President of Jiangsu University.

About 2000 teachers and students from more than 70 countries attended the varied activities of the opening ceremony. Overseas students presented the cultures, costumes, history, customs, etc. of their own countries by means of colourful pictures, a dazzling array of beautiful artifacts, sweet songs and elegant dances, and delicious foods. The fashion show given by Zhenjiang Chi-pao Show Team and the Chinese opera medley by Jiangsu University Lanyun Chinese Opera Club were wildly wooed and applauded by the whole audience. In between these activities, awards were granted to those overseas students participating in the African Market Survey Project by Mr. Yohannes Fanta, Consul-General for Ethiopia in Shanghai and Mr. Yan Wenjun, President of Jiangsu Ethel Group. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Li Xinchao, Deputy Dean of the Overseas College of Jiangsu University.
