On the afternoon of May 14, Dr. Zhou Haigang at Cleveland State University visited Jiangsu University and gave a lecture entitled

“Are unexpected earnings predictable?”. More than 100 faculties and students listened to the lecture given by Dr. Zhou Haigang, who tried to answer the question of whether unexpected earnings are predictable according to the data obtained from the transactions on the stock options market. Dr. Zhou begins his research with an analysis of the fluctuations of stock prices resulting from the publication of a listed company’s financial report and he makes use of the seasonal earnings samples of American companies from 1996 to 2012. After the lecture, Dr. Zhou went into mutual exchanges with the audience.

Dr. Zhou Haigang is currently serving as Dean of Confucius Institute of Cleveland State University. He is mainly devoted to researches on finance and a CFA. And he has published nearly 20 papers in top international periodicals.
