November 21-24，Professor Wu Qinghong, Ji Lijun and Mao Yanfeng from the School of Foreign Languages of Jiangsu University attended and gave academic speeches at “the 10th CAFIC International Conference” held in Hainan University.

The 2013 Conference, jointly initiated by China Association for Intercultural Communication (CAFIC), the International Association for Intercultural Communication Studies (IAICS), and the Association for Chinese Communication Studies (ACCS), was hosted by the School of Tourism of Hainan University and the Translators’ Association of Hainan. The Conference with the theme of “International Communication for a Harmonious World: Challenges and Opportunities” welcomed more than 300 scholars and specialists from over 10 countries and areas of the world to carry out talks on such extensive topics as development of the discipline of international communication, cross-cultural communication, interaction between language and culture, cultural conflicts, cultural converging, cultural understanding, and world peace. The three faculties from the School of Foreign Languages of Jiangsu University each made an academic presentation to the Conference, one parallel session of which was chaired by Professor Wu Qinghong. The academic viewpoints of Jiangsu University delegates were thought highly of by other participants of the Conference, which as a result helped spread the influence of Jiangsu University in the field of international communication.
