At the invitation of the Chinese Commission on Irrigation & Drainage (CCID), 3 students and faculties from the Research Center for Fluid Machinery Engineering Technology of Jiangsu University attended the 1st World Irrigation Forum (WIF) and the 64th IEC meeting of the ICID held in Mardin, Turkey that welcomed more than 800 participants from over 60 states including the US, Germany, Korea and Egypt.

The delegates from Jiangsu University gave two academic lectures respectively titled “Research and Development of Light and Low Energy- Consumption Variable Irrigation System” and “ Flow Resistance Study of Helically Coiled Pipe For A Hose Reel Irrigator Based on CFD Analysis”, participated in the workshops of water conservation, drainage and field irrigation, and introduced to Chinese colleagues the historical development and research orientations of the discipline of agricultural machinery in Jiangsu University and especially the achievements in irrigation research made by the Research Center for Fluid Machinery Engineering Technology of Jiangsu University that had been thought highly of by the ICID.

After their stay in Turkey, students and faculties from Jiangsu University, together with other members of the CCID, went to visit at the invitation of Galilee Institute Netafim and Shafdan Sewage Plant in Israel where they were shown around and given a brief introduction to the corporation or plant.
