The 6th Sanjiang International Forum on Healthcare Reform Held at JSU

On December 16, the 6th Sanjiang International Forum on Healthcare Reform, jointly organized by Jiangsu University (JSU) and Journal of Chinese Health Economics, was held at JSU. With the theme of “Innovation and Development of Multi-level Medical Insurance System”, the forum attracted over 100 renowned scholars from more than 40 prestigious universities and research institutions at home and abroad.



Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee Li Hongbo introduced JSU and the university’s discipline of Public Administration, and expressed his expectation that more suggestions and proposals on the development of China’s medical system reform can be put forward by experts. President of Journal of Chinese Health Economics Wang Yidong made a speech at the forum.
At the academic report session, the keynote speeches involved the broad scope of health protection and development of multi-level medical insurance system, modernization in health and healthcare sectors, value of health technology assessment, high-quality development of public hospitals and strategic purchasing of medical insurance, supply chain management of healthcare, construction of county-level medical and health service system, medical and nursing services for elderly people with intellectual strategy, medical insurance system in Japan, proactive health and transformation of primary health care service, latest developments in Europe in the context of integrated care and pay for performance models.


At the Roundtable Forum, leaders from local institutions in charge of medical insurance management and commercial insurance companies, with the theme of “Frontiers of Medical Reform”, had a lively discussion about the practice of construction of multi-level medical insurance system. Presidents and professors from 7 universities in China running programs of Public Administration, focused on the theme of “Various Views on Medical Reform”, explored the cutting-edge theory about medical reform, and the construction and development of the discipline of Public Administration.


This forum promoted the academic exchanges between the participating experts and scholars, played a positive role in promoting the construction and development of a multi-level medical security system and the coordinated development of the three medical services, and further enhanced the influence of the discipline of public administration at JSU.
