Visit by Malaysian University President Delegation

On Dec. 11th, the Malaysia University President Delegation paid a visit to Jiangsu University, accompanied by Lim Yourang, the Education counselor of Embassy of Malaysia in China. Prof. Yuan Shouqi, president of JU, received the delegation. Prof. Chen Long, vice president, Li Hongbo, assistant of president, leaders from Office of Academic Affairs, Graduate School, Office of Science and Technology Affairs, International Office, School of Management,School of Art , and Institute of Agricultural Engineering attended the meeting.

Prof. Yuan gave an introduction to JU’s history, disciplines, characteristics and strength of specialties as well as the international strategy. The Presidents of six Malaysian universities also briefed about their universities’ history, disciplines and majors. Based on thorough understandings, Prof. Chen Long, vice president signed the Letters of Intent with reprensttives from University of Malaya, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan .

The delegation also visited our University Museum and the campus.

The University of Malaya (or UM) is a public research university located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the oldest and top university in Malaysia. The university's name was abbreviated as Malaya during the pre-independence period. In 2011, UM was ranked between 401 to 500 in the 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by Shanghai Jiaotong University. The THE QS World University Rankings has ranked UM in the top 200 universities in the world.

Universiti Utara Malaysia (Northern University of Malaysia, (UUM) is a public university in the town of Sintok, Kedah. The university was established with the specific mission of providing a leadership role for management education in the country. Thus, the university is also known as a management university.

Universiti Malaysia Sabah (English: Sabah University of Malaysia) or UMS was established on November 24, 1994. There are currently 13 schools and 9 research institutes in UMS.

Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (Kelantan University of Malaysia) or UMK is a public university located at Kelantan in Malaysia. The formation of the university was mooted during the tabling of the Nineth Malaysian Plan, approved by the cabinet of Malaysia on June 14, 2006.
