MOU Signed with University of Gdańsk

From Dec. 8 to 11, 2014, Prof. Józef Włodarski, Pro-rector and Prof. Wu Lan, Dean of Chinese Language from the University of Gdańsk, Poland visited our university. Vice President Prof. Chen Long met with them. The two parties signed MOU on Dec. 9 and reached consensus on exploring bi-lateral cooperation.

At the meeting, Vice President Chen Long and Prof. Józef Włodarski introduced each university’s schooling history, disciplines and strength as well as achievements in scientific research, talent cultivation and so on. Prof. Józef Włodarski expressed the wishes to establish cooperation between the two universities in the field of life science, chemistry, economic management, food science and etc.

The delegation visited the university museum and library, and had talks with exchange students from University of Gdańsk .

The University of Gdańsk was founded on 20 March, 1970 by integrating the Higher Economics School in Sopot and the Higher Pedagogical School in Gdańsk. Later, it merged the Higher Teacher Training School. Currently, the University is the largest educational institution in the Pomerania region, having 31,000 students on campus. In the fields of Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Oceanography, Quantum Physics, Pedagogy, Psychology, Law and Economic Sciences, the University of Gdańsk is one of the best institutions in Poland and has nurtured excellent alumni, including two Presidents and one Prime Minister of Poland.
