OECians Understand China Through a "Low-Carbon Zhenjiang"

Overseas Education College (OEC) from Jiangsu University (JSU) collaborated with Zhenjiang Government to organize a two-day field trip dubbed “Understand China Through Low-Carbon Zhenjiang". In July, the distinctive days were scheduled for this educative field trip for JSU foreign students led by OEC staff. 41 international students from different countries took part in this exclusive trip to better understand China.

The entire program commenced with an insightful lecture on “Road to Innovations in Construction of Beautiful and Low Carbon China” by Ass. Prof. Long who is the director of the Institution of Resources and Environmental policy at JSU as well as lecture on “Climate Change and Urban Resilience: Perspectives on Energy and Carbon Emissions” by Assoc. Prof. Wang Peng, the director of Research Center for Urban Environment and Engineering Safety Behavior System at JSU.



Students understood that the establishment of car manufacturing company by "Beijing Automobile and Manga" has opened up a new-fangled history of China’s electric automobile industry, witnessed the development of China automobile industry, and made Zhenjiang one of the substantial cradles of the new China's e-vehicle industry.

Students later visited Huaiying Village of Zhenjiang and experienced the lush green farming lands and also history of the village.



Still in the second half of the Perception of China, on the next day, OECians further embarked on the trip to Yangzhong city where we precisely visited a solar power generation field and Yangzhong Zero Emission Park. After lunch, students proceeded to visit Pearl S. Buck Museum, Zhenjiang Museum and finally boat ride at Jinshan Lake and Yangtze River.

The trip was successful and all participants expressed their excitement and hope to have more of similar visits in future due to its uniqueness and exposure.
