JSU 11th International Culture Festival Successfully Held

On May 15, the opening ceremony of Jiangsu University (JSU) 11th International Culture Festival (ICF) was held at JSU. Thousands of Chinese and foreign students from 27 countries showcased the colorful international cultural customs through art exhibitions, cultural performances, and specialities.


Mr. John Kwasi Boakye, Ag. Head of Mission and Mr. Alfred Hammond, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ghana in China, Mr. Banda Geoffrey, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Zambia in China, Ms. Precious Kawocha, Counselor of the Embassy of Zimbabwe in China, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of JSU, Prof. Zhao Yutao, Vice President of JSU, Prof. Jin Lifu, Director of Publicity Department of JSU, leaders from related departments and enterprises attended the ceremony.


At the opening ceremony, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, diplomats and Li Tie, President of CAMCO Equipment (Zambia) Ltd., delivered speeches to celebrate the offline reunion and long-term cooperation. Prof. Zhao Yutao announced the Winners of "My Beautiful Moments in China" Photography Competition.
At the costume show, the Chinese and foreign teachers and students danced and sung. Students from different countries displayed their own cultural characteristics and customs through food, painting and handwork on the elaborately arranged exhibition stand. What’s more, the audience went to their booth to get their "event passport" stamped. There were also joint booths by multiple countries, such as Pacific Island countries and southern Africa. The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office of Zhenjiang, International Office and Language and Culture Center of JSU took part in the exhibition for the first time.

After the opening ceremony, an interview and exchange meeting with diplomats and entrepreneurs was held. The diplomats introduced the bilateral cooperation with China and the current investment and talent needs. 5 business representatives including Li Tie, shared the CAMCO's international development history and the Belt and Road cooperation needs, and gave some career development suggestions to the Chinese and foreign students present. Participants had a lively discussion on how to be better involved in the Belt and Road development and contributing to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
During the opening ceremony, Prof. Yan Xiaohong met with the diplomats and the diplomatic envoys also visited the JSU’s history museum.
