On the 25th and 26th of June 2022 the finals of the 8th National BIM Graduation Design Innovation Competition for Colleges and Universities was held online. Students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of Jiangsu University (JSU) won 2 grand prizes, 1 second prize and 7 third prizes.
The competition was held over eight months and attracted more than 3,500 teams comprising of 20,000 teachers and students from 550 universities. In the final stage, through the online defense by competitors and expert evaluation, a total of 67 teams from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Southeast University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Jiangsu University to mention a few and other universities won grand prizes. Among them, Shen Yebo, Tang Yacheng, Gu Chengcheng, Wu Nuoxin and Wang Yuxin won the grand prize of "BIM Modeling and Application of Civil Construction" in module A and Xie Shaofeng, Luo Hu, Lu Zhengyi, Zhao Guodong, and Li Xiulian won the grand prize of "Assembly Building BIM Design and Construction" in module G.The National College BIM Graduation Design Innovation Competition for Colleges and Universities aims to broaden college students' vision of the architectural profession and cultivate BIM application-oriented innovative talents. It is one of the largest college architecture professional events in China covering the largest number of majors, and was listed for the first time in 2022 in the Ranking of General College Student Competitions, becoming the only competition in the discipline of BIM in the National College Architecture Professional competitions list.
The competition was organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of JSU . In recent years, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics has attached great importance to the scientific and technological innovation competitions for students, aiming at promoting, teaching and learning through various discipline competitions. The department of Engineering Management has set up numerous interest groups to promote BIM technology and intelligent construction and structure competition. This has inspired and enhanced the enthusiasm of students and encouraged them to participate in these innovation competition.
