JSU Held the Closing Ceremony of the 3rd JSU Agricultural Machinery Training in Zambia 2020 Successfully

On Dec. 17, 2020, the Closing Ceremony of the 3rd Jiangsu University (JSU) Agricultural Machinery Training in Zambia 2020 & Senior Workshop on Modern Agricultural Machinery and Agricultural Products Processing was held in JSU. The training program lasted for about 4 months. More than 500 young students, agricultural machinery managerial staff, workers, farmers and students of the University of Zambia (UNZA), Natural Resources Development College underwent online course learning, field operation and project assessment.
Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of JSU, Prof, Zhao Yutao, Vice President of JSU, Prof. Tamala Tonga- Kambikambi, Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Zambia, President Li Tie, CAMCO Machinery & Equipment Ltd., leaders of related departments and schools, representatives of teachers and students from JSU attended the event. Associate Prof. Huang Ting, Director of International Office, presided over the closing ceremony.


At the ceremony, Prof. Yan Xiaohong pointed out that this training was an innovative practice and a brave leap forward on the basis of long-term cooperation between the two universities. He hoped that JSU and the University of Zambia could march hand in hand to another peak and write new chapters as an example of cooperation and friendship between China and Zambia. The Acting Vice-Chancellor Tamala Tonga-Kambikambi, UNZA pointed out that JSU had become an important international partner of UNZA. This training would further deepen the cooperation between the two universities, achieve win-win cooperation, and accumulate experience, create opportunities and potential for the cultivation of talents between the two universities. President Li Tie, CAMCO Machinery & Equipment Ltd. said that JSU and CAMCO have a solid foundation for cooperation, and highly praised JSU’s efforts to offer agricultural machinery training in Africa, especially in Zambia.
At the ceremony, 17 students were awarded the Excellent Trainee, among which 5 won the first prize, 6 won the second prize and 6 won the third prize. Prof. Zhang Di from School of Food & Biological Engineering of JSU, the representative of teacher who delivered courses for this training, and Mwaba Eliada, the representative of Excellent Trainees from the UNZA, delivered speeches respectively.


Two outstanding Zambian students and one outstanding Chinese student sang a Chinese song and an English song, which reflects the cultural integration and people-to-people bond between China and Zambia.
