On April 29, Leisi International Conference 2021 was hosted at Jiangsu University (JSU). The conference was jointly sponsored by JSU and International University Consortium for Agricultural Engineering, under the guidance of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery, China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, China Agricultural Engineering Society, China Agricultural Mechanization Association, China Agricultural Machinery Circulation Association. With the theme of "Consolidation of Poverty Reduction Achievements and Assistance of Rural Revitalization Strategy", more than 200 experts, scholars and enterprise leaders from 12 countries and regions discussed the frontier issues of intelligent agricultural machinery and equipment development, and offered suggestions to promote China's agricultural mechanization and intelligent and high-quality development.

On the morning of the 29th, the opening ceremony was held. Hong Huimin, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC of Jiangsu Province, Kang Shaozhong, Luo Xiwen, Chen Xuegeng, Zhao Chunjiang, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, experts and relevant leaders in the field of agricultural engineering of universities, industries and enterprises at home and abroad, leaders, representatives of teachers and students of JSU attended the ceremony. Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of JSU, presided over the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, the presidents of member universities of International University Consortium for Agricultural Engineering delivered video congratulatory speeches including Prof. Simon Pollard, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Cranfield University, UK, Prof. Sergey M. Vdovin, President of Mordovia State University, Russia, Prof. Niwes Nantachit, President of Chiang Mai University, Thailand, Prof. Charles A. Igwe, President of University of Nigeria, Nigeria, Prof. Hassan Younis, Vice President of Kafra Sheikh University, Egypt and Prof. Daniel Palm, Vice President of Northern Arizona University, USA. Prof. Yuan Shouqi, Chair of University Committee for CPC affairs, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of JSU, and expressing sincere gratitude to everyone for their long-term care and support to JSU.
What’s more, the Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony was held. Prof. Li Zhaomin, Vice President of Shihezi University, and Prof. Wu Chundu, Vice President of JSU signed the cooperation agreements. Li Zhaomin, Wu Chundu, and Li Xiaochun, chairman of Changzhou Hansen Machinery Co., Ltd., signed the cooperation agreement.

Then Academician Luo Xiwen and Prof. Yuan Shouqi jointly inaugurated Jiangsu University Cranfield Tech Futures Graduate Institute approved by the Ministry of Education.
The ceremony also witnessed the inauguration of "Jiangsu Rural Revitalization Research Institute", "Lengyu Rural Construction Thought Research Center", "Yafu Rural Development Research Center" and the appointment of Deans. Chang Benchun, Deputy Secretary General of the CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of Democratic Construction, and Zhao Yafu jointly unveiled those research institutes and centers. Prof. Yuan Shouqi conferred a letter of appointment on Zhao Yafu to make him the dean of Jiangsu Rural Revitalization Research Institute.
The academic sharing session was held after the opening ceremony. Dr. Lisa Collins, University of Leeds, Prof. Kuvshino A.N., Ogarev Mordovia State University, Prof. Gerard Bois, Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Dr. Toby Waine, Cranfield University, Prof. Yang Zengling, China Agricultural University, Prof. Zhang Xuesong, China Agricultural University, Researcher Cen Haiyan, Zhejiang University, Prof. Fu Jun, Jilin University, Prof. Wang Dongwei, Qingdao Agricultural University and Researcher Xu Lizhang, Jiangsu University, delivered reports and shared the experience with the experts and scholars attended the conference.
