Post-Doctoral Fellows

1. Overview

The University offers postdoctoral opportunities in 13 academic disciplines. Please refer to the attached list.

2. Qualifications

An applicant should graduate from a leading Chinese university or any other recognized international academic institution in the last three years and be younger than 35. The applicant must have a high academic level, robust scientific research, and innovation ability, and have published a minimum of 2 SCI, CPCI, or SSCI academic papers as the first author or corresponding author.

3. Remuneration

Foreign postdoc fellows will be offered an annual salary paid by the University. Pre-tax annual incomes for specific postdocs are as follows:

In addition, in the first two years, the University will offer payments of CNY 50,000 for Engineering postdocs or a basic grant of CNY 30,000 for postdocs in Humanities or Social Sciences.

We recommend and encourage a successful applicant to rent accommodation off-campus. We provide a monthly rental allowance of CNY 800 (before tax).

4. Application

Applicants are advised to contact the designated professors who are Ph.D. supervisors for postdoctoral offers in their respective disciplines. If they fail to do so, applicants should submit their CV and other documents to support their application to bhk@ujs.edu.cn with the title of Post-doc Application. We will forward the application to the Ph.D. supervisors. When we find a suitable prospective supervisor, we will list prospective candidate and decide whether to make the candidate an offer in the applied discipline. The decision will be based on the recommendation of the Postdoctoral Administrative Committee. The Committee's decision will be motivated by and based on the candidates’ past academic achievements.

5. Required Documents for Postdoctoral Applicants

After passing the assessment by the supervisor and the Department of the Post-doctoral Research Center, the applicant should visit the China Postdoctoral Website (http://www.chinapostdoctor.org.cn/), register, and log in to China Postdoctoral Online System (https://www.chinapostdoctor.org.cn/auth/login.html). After that, the applicant should complete all the relevant fields and upload all the required documents.

When the information and uploaded documents are completed, the applicant should export and download the postdoctoral application form, submit the printed application documents to the Post-doctoral Office and wait for the result.

The required document list is as follows (at least one original copy of each):

①Postdoctoral Qualification Review Sheet.

②The Assessment Form of the Academic Department of the School in which your Post-doctoral Research discipline falls (with the signature of the authorized director who is in charge of the office, and the official seal of the school);

③Postdoctoral Application Form: (Fill in the form found on the China Postdoctoral Online System (https://www.chinapostdoctor.org.cn/auth/login.html), download the completed form, print and sign it in all the designated places, in black ink);

④Copy of the latest valid passport.

⑤Copy of the Ph.D. degree.

⑥Copy of Doctoral Degree Certificate, authenticated by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (for Ph.D. qualifications awarded at International Academic Institutions);

⑦Letters of recommendation from two specialists in the applicants' research field (Letters of recommendation from the Ph.D. supervisor and the Postdoctoral collaborator of the applicant);

⑧The Academic, Ideology and Morality Assessment Form from postdoctoral supervisor of JSU.

⑨Curriculum vitae.

⑩Certificates of your scientific achievements.
