The finals of the 9th National University BIM Graduation Design Innovation Competition were held online from June 2 to 4. Jiangsu University (JSU) has won 3 grand prizes, 2 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 10 third prizes.
The competition was organized by the China Civil Engineering Society and Glodon Company Limited. After eight months of competition, 584 institutions of higher learning, more than 5,682 teams and 30,000 teachers and students participated in the competition. In the final stage, 71 teams from Southeast University, Southwest Jiaotong University, JSU, and other universities won the grand prizes through online defense and expert evaluation.

Team Renhe Zhiyuan (仁和致远), composed of Jiang Ziyang, Yang Shichao, Gu Chengcheng, Lin Zhengfeng and Rong Chengcheng, and Team Tiantian Doushi Juanwang (天天都是卷王), composed of Lu Xiangyang, Wang Junjie, Shi Ruiyi, Peng Luoyu and Li Jiawei, were supervised by Han Yu, Zhang Fubin, Wang Lu and Wang Zenian from Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of JSU. The two teams won the grand prize for digital design and construction of prefabricated building in module F. Team Zhiyuan Chuangzao (致远创造), composed of Geng Yangyang , Cen Jiaxi, He Bo, Wu Han and Pei Zhongyu, won the grand prize for intelligent construction and management innovation in module G.

The BIM Graduation Design Innovation Competition for Universities aims to broaden college students’ horizons in architecture and cultivate BIM application-oriented and innovative talents. It is one of the largest college architecture competitions in China covering the largest number of majors. It has been selected for three consecutive years in the List of Competitions for University Students, and has become the only event selected in the BIM direction of the National University Student Competition in Architecture.
In recent years, JSU has attached great importance to the activities of science and technology innovation competition for students, and promoted teaching and learning through various subject competitions. The specific implementation unit of the competition, the Department of Engineering Management of Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, has made great efforts in cultivating the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of students, initially formed a five-in-one innovation and entrepreneurship practice ability cultivation mode of “production, study, research, competition and application”, took the lead in founding the micro-profession of intelligent construction. In the past three years, students of this major have won nearly 200 awards in various innovative projects and competitions.
