Recently, Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government held the Annual Provincial Science and Technology Award Conference in Nanjing, rewarding the winners and units for their achievements in science and technology in 2019.

During the conference, provincial leaders including Lou Qinjian, Secretary of Jiangsu Party Committee, Director of Standing Committee of Jiangsu Province, Wu Zhenglong, Deputy Secretary of Jiangsu Party Committee, Governor of Jiangsu Provincial Government, Academician Xuan Yimin and Academician Zhu Shining, the winners of Major Contribution Award of Jiangsu Provincial Basic Research in 2019 presented certificates to winners. On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Wu Zhenglong extended warm congratulations to all the winners and extended high respect to the science and technology workers. Huang Lixin, chairman of Jiangsu Provincial Political Consultative Conference, attended the meeting. Ren Zhenhe, Deputy Secretary of Jiangsu Party Committee presided over the conference.

The 2019 award conference ended with 273 science and technology awards granted, which included 45 first prizes, 81 second prizes and 147 third prizes. JSU won 18 provincial science and technology awards with 4 first prizes, 10 second prizes and 4 third prizes, ranking 2^nd among all universities in Jiangsu. And 1^st among all provincial universities.
