With the "Science without Borders" project put forward in 2011, the Brazilian government planed to select and send 100,000 Brazilian students to study overseas between 2011 and 2014. The aim of the project is to train and reserve talents for Brazil, and to promote the internationalization of high-caliber talents cultivation for the country.
To promote the higher education cooperation and exchanges between China and Brazil, the Seminar on Enhancing Higher Education Internationalization: Opportunities for China and Brazil co-hosted by China Scholarship Council(CSC) and Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education(CAPES) was successfully opened on March 26th 2012 at Tsinghua University, Beijing. Delegates from 43 Chinese universities and 20 Brazilian universities attended the seminar. The delegation led by Prof. Xu Huaxi, vice president of Jiangsu University, attended the conference to introduce the priority academic programs of Jiangsu University to try to attract excellent Brazilian students to study in China.
During the seminar, Professors from School of Food and Biological Engineering, Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, and Institute of Agricultural Engineering, International Office, and Overseas Education College, prepared a wonderful speech titled “Internationalization and the priority academic programs of Jiangsu University” carefully and had in-depth one-on-one discussions and consultations on cooperation. Prof. Gao gave presentation successfully and attracted many Brazilian universities discussing the cooperation mainly in Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering and Medicine.
