Visit by Educational Delegation from Canada

On the afternoon of Feb. 27, 2013,an educational delegation from Canada headed by Mr. Eric Pelletier, Deputy Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada Shanghai, visited Jiangsu University (JU). Prof. YUAN Shouqi, JU’s President and Prof. CHEN Long, JU’s Vice President received the delegates.

After brief introduction, both Prof. YUAN and Mr. Pelletier expressed the sincere hope to further cooperation based on the current scale. They hoped that efforts would be taken to enhance publicity, to explore more cooperative programs in the fields of 2+2 joint education, student and scholar exchange, further education of graduates from both sides, and so on.

Besides, other delegates accompanying Mr. Pelletier were educational officers from three Canadian provinces including Alberta, Quebec and Ontario and representatives from six Canadian universities including McGill University, Saint Mary’s University, Queen’s University, Centennial College, Royal Roads University and Thompson Rivers University. They briefed their strong disciplines and existing international programs respectively. All of them wish to conduct further contact with JU to specify cooperative programs in fields of both sides’ strong disciplines for mutual benefits.

After the meeting, the delegation was showed around JU’s Museum. After the guide’s explanation and Q&A session, all the delegates got a further understanding of JU’s developing history, current situation, mission and achievements and were more looking forward to the future cooperation with JU.
