President Yuan Shouqi visits Zambia and Ghana

July 26-August 3, invited by the Department of Education and Science and Technology of Zambia and the University of Cape Coast of Ghana, President and Research Fellow Yuan Shouqi of Jiangsu University visited Zambia and Ghana with his delegates from the School of Clinical Medicine and the International Office of Jiangsu University.

During their stay in Zambia, the delegates visited the Department of Education and Science and Technology of Zambia, where President Yuan Shouqi negotiated with 6 senior officials of Zambia on the vision of establishing Zambia-Jiangsu University, reaching a preliminary agreement of cooperation and fixing the contact persons of both parties. The Chinese delegates also visited the Sheikhdom of Mukuni, where Sheik Munokala Muchelewa Mukuni extended a great wish to establish Zambi-Jiangsu University in his Sheikdom and promised to offer a land of 50 hectares for the first period of construction and the development of local science and technology and economy. The delegates also visited China-Zambia Friendship Farm and the large-scale irrigation facilities, the Chinese Embassy in Zambia and reported the vision of establishing Zambia-Jiangsu University to Mr. Pan Qingjiang, the Chief Councilor of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia. In order to enlarge the scope of overseas student admission, President Yuan Shouqi held talks with Martina Company of Zambia, who is chosen the agent for Jiangsu University to enroll students in Zambia.

During their stay in Ghana, the Chinese delegates visited the University of Cape Coast, where President Yuan Shouqi exchanged ideas with President Domwini Dabire Kuupole on broadening the scope of cooperation and student exchanges. President Kuupole extended great thanks to Jiangsu University for cultivating 10 young teachers for his university. The delegates also visited the university campus with maritime features and exchanged ideas with heads of related colleges of the University. Before leaving the University, President Yuan Shouqi held talks with 4 alumna of Jiangsu University working in the University Cape Coast.
