JU signs inter-university exchange and cooperation agreement with University of Houston

Recently，Vice president Xu Huaxi had a meeting with the visitors at the Conference Center. University of Houston is the biggest comprehensive university in Texas and one of the best public universities in America. Its natural sciences ever stood 10th in the ranking of majors in America. The university has a current enrollment of 35,000. The city of Houston, where the university lies, is the center of petrochemical energy industry, medical science, space travel and marine science. We negotiated with the delegation about “3+1” Program , and signed an agreement of inter-university student exchange. And the two parties reached a preliminary agreement about future all-round cooperation and sister university relationship. According to the “3+1” Program, from 2012, every year 5 good students from Jiansgu University School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, after 3 years’ study at Jiangsu University, will be sent to University of Houston for one year’s study, and earn Jiangsu University’s bachelor’s degree and Houston University’s Master’s degree.
