On March 5, the delegation led by the British Secretary General of JS-UK 20+20 World-Class University Consortium Prof. Alan Marshall from the University of Liverpool (UoL), visited Jiangsu University (JSU). Vice President Prof. Cai Yingfeng met the delegation, Director and relevant staff members of International Office attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Vice President Cai Yingfeng fully acknowledged and applauded the proactive efforts undertaken by the UoL in promoting the establishment of JS-UK 20+20 World-Class University Consortium. Both parties reached a consensus on further leveraging the Consortium platform to deepen collaboration among member universities in such areas as student cultivation, faculty exchange, scientific research cooperation, and industry-academia-research innovation. Extensive discussions were held between the two universities, focusing particularly on enhancing cooperation on international talent cultivation and international scientific research in the realm of engineering disciplines.Afterwards, Prof. Alan Marshall introduced the semester exchange program, summer school program, and master's dual-degree program to the students of School of Electrical and Information Engineering, School of Finance & Economics, School of Management, School of Arts, and School of Life Sciences of JSU. The students in the audience showed great enthusiasm and actively participated by asking questions, demonstrating their excellent English communication skills and ability to engage in communication.
JS-UK 20+20 World-Class University Consortium was established in 2019. It serves as an international platform for cooperation and exchange between universities in Jiangsu and the UK, facilitating comprehensive strategic cooperation and enhancing exchanges in areas such as international talent development, scientific and technological innovation, faculty exchanges, and cultural understanding. The consortium strives to contribute to the mutual development of education in both Jiangsu and the UK. JSU currently serves as the chairman and secretariat of the Consortium on the Jiangsu side in the first round, while UoL holds the position of chairman and secretariat on the British side. The two universities have fostered a long-term and amicable inter-university cooperation based on the foundation provided by the Consortium.
