From Nov. 8 to 15, the final of the men's volleyball group of the 1st Student (Youth) Games of the People’s Republic of China (University Group) was held in Beibu Gulf University, and the Jiangsu Provincial volleyball Team led by Jiangsu University (JSU) won the championship and achieved the best results in the history of the university volleyball competition in Jiangsu Province in recent years.

The Jiangsu Education Department sent a congratulatory letter to JSU, congratulating JSU on its achievements in this competition, fully affirming the university's sports work, and hoping that JSU will take this as a new starting point, solidly promote the university's sports work, carefully cultivate more outstanding sports students, and make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of university sports in Jiangsu.

The Jiangsu Provincial volleyball Team is composed of 12 members from JSU, Nanjing Sport Institute, China Pharmaceutical University, and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. The team is led by Director Wang Wunian, and the Main Coach is Yin Juan. Both of them are from the Department of Physical Education of JSU.

In March of this year, JSU’s men’s volleyball team won the championship in the 2023 Jiangsu Provincial University (High-level Group) Volleyball Championship, and obtained the qualification to form a team to represent Jiangsu Provincial Colleges and Universities in the first National Student (Youth) Games volleyball competition. In September, the preliminaries of the first National Student (Youth) Games campus group (university) volleyball project kicked off at the Yellow River Olympic Sports Center in Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. 25 men's volleyball teams from various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities participated in the competition. And the team advanced to the final with the sixth place in the preliminaries.
In the final stage, the 12 strong teams from Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Hunan, Shanxi, Sichuan, and Hainan, engaged in a fierce competition. Jiangsu Provincial volleyball Team advanced to the semifinals as the second in the group. In the semifinals, despite initially losing two sets, they staged a comeback and defeated the Guangdong team 3-2. Then they faced the Beijing team in the finals, ultimately securing victory with a score of 3-1 to clinch the championship.
