Vice President Li Hong visits French and Italian Universities

From October 13 to 19, Vice President of Jiangsu University (JSU) Prof. Li Hong led a delegation to visit École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (ENSAM), ESTIA School of Engineers of University of Bordeaux, France and University of Padua, Italy. The delegation met and made exchanges with leaders from these universities over joint training of students, mutual visits of teachers, cooperation of scientific research and other issues, and had a meeting with JSU students now in France and Italy.


In ESTIA School of Engineers of University of Bordeaux, the two universities reviewed the achievements of the Sino-French joint training program for engineers in the past five years, carried on thorough discussions on further cooperation such as inter-university exchanges and short-term visiting programs, and completed the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two universities. They also visited Research and Development Laboratory for mechanical and composite materials of the university in the course of the visit.
In ENSAM, the two universities conducted in-depth communications on deepening scientific research cooperation, especially on the establishment of joint laboratories, and initiated the signing of the  Joint Laboratory Agreement. At the same time, the joint training of postgraduates and Ph.D students was discussed as well as the feasibility plan. In addition, the delegation also visited six laboratories and scientific research institutions, including the Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, the Mechanical Technology and Innovation Laboratory, the Materials Microstructure and Mechanics Research Laboratory, and the Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics Laboratory.


Prof. Li Hong and the delegation exchanged views with the University of Padua on expanding the field of cooperation and improving the quality of joint training during their stay in Italy. They also had a meeting with the JSU students studying in Italy and learned about their studies and lives there. Students were encouraged to fully experience the local culture while learning professional knowledge well, so as to become goodwill envoys of Sino-Italian exchanges.
The relevant persons of the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, and International Office joined the visit.
