Vice President Chen Hong's Diplomatic Visit to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina: Strengthening Educational and Agricultural Collaborations

From September 12 to 19, Vice President of Jiangsu University (JSU) Prof. Chen Hong, led a delegation on a visit to the University of Niš in Serbia and the University of Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During their visit to Serbia, the delegation also paid a visit to the Education Department of the People's Republic of China's Embassy in Serbia, as well as the Eurasian Regional Headquarters of the Power Construction Corporation of China and other organizations.


At the University of Niš in Serbia, the delegation conducted an inspection of the Confucius Institute's office space and engaged in negotiations with the foreign party regarding the specific arrangements for the inauguration and construction of the Confucius Institute. In addition, the delegation visited the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, and Modern Technology Innovation Center. During the visit, both parties reached a consensus on expanding the scope of cooperation and further enhancing collaboration in talent development and scientific research between the two universities.


In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the delegation visited the College of Agriculture at the University of Banja Luka and conducted an inspection of the site of the Central and Eastern Europe International Demonstration Center of Government, Industry, University, and Research Institute Cooperation in Agricultural Modernization, which is part of the International Capacity Cooperation Alliance for Agricultural Equipment. The delegation also visited the demonstration farm of the University. Both parties reached an agreement on the construction of the Central and Eastern Europe International Demonstration Center of Government, Industry, University and Research Institute Cooperation in Agricultural Modernization, which will lead to the inauguration and operation of the project as soon as possible. The visit received high praise and recognition from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Serb Republic, with both former and current Secretaries of Agriculture in attendance at the relevant activities.
University of Niš, established in 1965, is a renowned public comprehensive university and the third higher educational institution in Serbia. The University of Banja Luka, established in 1975, comprises various colleges, including the College of Agriculture, College of Electrical Engineering, and College of Mechanical Engineering, and holds a significant role as a key university in the Serb Republic.
