The "World Cup" finals of the 7th International College Students Intelligent Agricultural Equipment Innovation Competition was held at Jiangsu University (JSU) on the 4th and 5th of June 2022.

Due to COVID-19 the competition’s was held in a hybrid way, with experts elevation offline and participating contestants online. A total of 506 works were submitted by 59 domestic colleges and universities in this competition. The knockout stage and the finals took place simultaneously on the 5th June.
On the 4th June, the opening ceremony was held in the morning. Academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering Prof. Luo Xiwen, Prof. Chen Xuegeng and Prof. Zhao Chunjian, General Secretary of the International Commission of Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering Fedro S. Zazueta, President of The Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery Liu Xiaohu, Executive Vice President of The Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering Zhu Ming, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of the Marketing Company of Jiangsu World Agricultural Machinery Co., LTD Li Wenliang, Chair of the University Committee for CPC affairs of JSU Prof. Yuan Shouqi, President of JSU Prof. Yan Xiaohong, Vice President of JSU Prof. Quan Li, and relevant members of the competition committee, well-known experts and professors in the field of agricultural machinery, and enterprise representatives attended the ceremony.

Prof. Yuan Shouqi, on behalf of JSU and the organizers, extended a warm welcome to the leaders, guests, judges, teachers and students who participated in the competition. He introduced the development history of the competition and the characteristics of JSU, i.e."Integrating Industry into Agriculture and strengthening Agriculture with Industry". Prof. Yuan pointed out that the competition is committed to cultivating high-quality innovative talents who are inspired by the “feelings” of understanding and loving agriculture and mastering the skills of strengthening and revitalizing agriculture. It is hoped that the contestants will uphold this spirit of self-improvement and innovation, and strive to provide strong support for the rural revitalization strategy and national development goals.

Academician Luo Xiwen, on behalf of the Steering Committee of the Competition, expressed warm congratulations on the opening of the competition. He hoped that the competition would continue to demonstrate its appeal with a high-level of competition, continue to display its influence ensuring a  high-level of competition standards, and continue to display its productivity with high-quality competition entries being received.

During the final, 311 creative works from 49 colleges and universities including China Agricultural University, South China Agricultural University and JSU competed brilliantly. After expert reviews, online questioning and competition, a total of 24 special prizes, 50 first prizes, 95 second prizes and 69 excellent awards were awarded in this competition.

With the theme of "Innovation-driven Revitalization of Rural Areas", the competition was co-sponsored by the International Committee on Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, the Chinese Agricultural Machinery Society, the Chinese Agricultural Engineering Society, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Modern Agricultural Equipment and Technology, the International Alliance of Agricultural Engineering Universities, and hosted by JSU.
