Recently, the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC issued the award decision of the 21st China Patent Award. “A Method and Device for Centrifugal Pump Cavitation Diagnosis” by a research team lead by Prof. Yuan Shouqi in Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering Technology of Jiangsu University (JSU), won the China Patent Silver Award, which is JSU’s first time to win China Patent Silver Award.
At present, the patented technology has been applied to a series of characteristic pump products. In the past two years, 630,000 units of such products have been sold, with a market share of more than 60% and new sales of 12.5 billion yuan.
In recent years, JSU has innovated the management and operating mechanism of intellectual property and, carried out in-depth cultivation and operation of high-value patents, and focused on exploring a number of high-value patent portfolios with advanced technology, strong market control, and outstanding economic and social benefits. This year, JSU also set up an independent intellectual property college, and set up the Intellectual Property Research Institute of new structural economics in Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing, to further deepen the development mode of “Integration of Production, Teaching, Research and Application” of intellectual property, speed up efforts to integrate the intellectual property with economy and industry, and strongly support the construction of high-level, distinctive and international Research-oriented Jiangsu University.
