In early August, Shanghai Ranking's Academic Ranking of World Universities was officially released in 2019. For the first time, Jiangsu University ranked among the top 500 in the world, 40-58 in the mainland universities and 401-500 in the world universities, which showed that JSU’s academic level and international influence had been improved rapidly compared to last year.

Shanghai Ranking's Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is the first comprehensive academic global university ranking in the World. It was first published in 2003, and the 17^th edition was released this year. And it is known for its objective, transparent and stable evaluation method, which adopts all internationally comparable objective indicators and third-party data. The ARWU is one of the four most influential and authoritative international rankings, which is widely reported and cited around the world.
