From 29^th to 31^st May, 2019, the 6^th Jiangsu University Academic Forum for High-Level Overseas Talents was successfully held in JSU. Totally 74 overseas high-level talents from 22 countries and regions, including MIT, Harvard University, Singapore National University, Edinburgh University, Queensland University, Australia, McGill University and other world-famous universities, participated in it.

On the 30^th, the Opening Ceremony was held in the conference center. Prof. Yuan Shouqi, Chair of University Committee, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President, and other leaders attended it. Other attendees included the leaders of departments and schools concerned, all overseas guests and teacher representatives. Prof. Yuan Shouqi delivered a speech on behalf of JSU. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Zhao Yutao.

After the opening ceremony, the participants reported in groups in terms of personal experiences, academic achievements and the work to be carried out after joining JSU. The leading group of school teachers has opened up a green channel to attract talents, comprehensively assess the specific situation of each talent, and timely study and decide on the results of the proposed recruitment according to the implementation of the “Jinshan Scholar Project”.

On the 31^st, the university arranged overseas talents to visit the university history museum. Each school organized activities such as academic reports, ideological and political assessment, laboratory visits and symposium.

After extensive publicity and careful preparation, the forum received more than 200 applications for participation. After material screening, video interview and comprehensive evaluation by various colleges and relevant departments, it focused on the professional quality, academic background, development potential, ideological and political quality and professional ethics of applicants, and finally determined the invitation list.

The Jiangsu University Academic Forum for High-Level Overseas Talents, as one of the brand activities to promote the internationalization of the teaching staff, avowed for enhancing the overall level of the talent team, strengthening international exchanges and cooperation, and enhancing the reputation and influence of the school, has been successfully held for six sessions and has been widely praised. Also, it has achieved good results.
