On August 25th, JING Wei, Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), came to Jiangsu University to have a working exchange with President Yan Xiaohong. Leaders of Language and Culture Center,  Study-Abroad-Service Center, and International Office attended the meeting.

During the talks, Huang Ting, Deputy Director of the International Office reported on the university's general situation, disciplines construction, students training, faculties, scientific research, and internationalization process. Subsequently, President Yan Xiaohong extended and highlighted the major disciplines, the international rankings and Chinese International Education.

Deputy Director JING fully affirmed the achievements in the development of JSU. She said that Jiangsu University has a long history of running a university, a clear positioning, and outstanding achievements in the International promotion of Chinese. The Confucius Institute Headquarters will continue to care for and support the development of JSU. It is hoped that JSU will give full play to the role of the Chinese Constituency in the Confucius Institute, gradually strengthen the construction of the Chinese International Education faculty, actively respond to the new requirements of the "Quality and Efficiency Improvement" of higher education actively participate in "the Belt and Road" construction.

Later, Deputy Director JING visited the University History Museum and listened to Prof. Dong Defu, Dean of the School of Marxism, "The Marxist Theory and Its Contemporary Value: Studying General Secretary Xi Jinping's Speech at the Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of Marx's Birth" Lecture.
