The national rankings of Top 50 Universities for Invention Patents granted in 2016 and Top 50 Universities for Effective Invention Patents relessed by Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Education, granted by the Dec. 2016. According to the data, the number of invention patents granted in 2016 to Jiangsu University is 884. This puts JSU at the 8^thrank at national level, keeping JSU within the top 10 for two consecutive years. By the end of 2016, the number of effective invention patents granted to JSU is 2634, ranking 12^thamong the national universities.

As part of the first group of pilot universities for national standardization of intellectual property management, Jiangsu University focuses on strengthening the construction of patent management information platform, patent quality control and innovation of patent operation mechanism, and so on. As a result, this improves the intellectual property management system and promotes the standardization of the university’s intellectual property management.
