Introduction

Prof. Arai is fromTokyo Denki University, Japan, His research area is focused on engine combustion. He has written 510 research papers,reporters,and reviews in Japanese and in English.He authored book chapter in “Combustion Products and its Reduction Technology ”(1997)and “New Combustion Engineering in Global Environment”(1999).He is the main editor of“Japanese-English-Chinese Dictionary for Automobiles”(2006)and the soon-to-be published“Fundamental and Practical Methodologies for Automobile PM Emission Measurement ”He was a JSME Fellow in 2004 and JSAE Fellow in 2005,and has become an Emeritus Member of the same organization since 2014. He is also a recipient of the Engine System Award for Academic Achievement in 2005.
